Bio
As music director and keyboard player, Kurt Crowley’s previous work in theater includes Hamilton (Broadway and Public Theater), Freestyle Love Supreme (Broadway and Off-Broadway), Bring It On (Broadway), and In the Heights (national tour). The executive music producer of Tick, Tick…Boom! (Netflix) and vocal supervisor on In the Heights (Warner Bros), Crowley is currently music-supervising Hamilton in Australia and Germany, and he originated the European tour of Carmen la Cubana as well as contributing arrangements. He has done music direction and arrangements for the Vail Dance Festival, and contributed dance arrangements to the Kennedy Center Honors and Somewhere (Hartford Stage). During the shutdown in 2020, he was co-arranger and music producer for Bolero Juilliard, conceived and produced a different version of Variations on “America,” featuring Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Thile, and produced many Hamilton-adjacent video arrangements for GOTV and morale-boosting. In the past, he has written for numerous cabarets in NYC and penned arrangements and orchestrations that aired on the LOGO Trailblazer Awards and Sesame Street as well as serving music director and co-orchestrator for One Thousand Nights and One Day Off Broadway. After studying music and comparative religion at Harvard University, Crowley received a Paine Fellowship to study classical and devotional music in North India.
